More postseason action for student athletes in the premiere set!
March isn't just mad for basketball! This next two weeks also contain the national championship meets for Swimming & Diving, the national Fencing championships, and the "Frozen" Four, featuring defending national champion Wisconsin and the Edwards sisters!
Swimming & Diving Championships
Women's Meet This Week (3/20-3/23): The 2023-24 Premiere Set features Ohio State's Nyah Funderburke, who has qualified for the national championships in three different events this year (50 Free, 100 Free, 100 Back). Ohio State also has a team in all five relay events, so you can expect to see Nyah in some of those events as well. Interested in watching? The championships stream live on NCAA.com here. The action begins tonight at 6PM Eastern with two relay events, then you can catch Nyah in the 50 Free (Thursday 3/21: Prelims @ 10 AM, Finals @ 6 PM), the 100 Back (Friday 3/22: Prelims @ 10 AM, Finals @ 6 PM), and the 100 Free (Saturday 3/23: Prelims @ 10 AM, Finals @ 6 PM)
Men's Meet Next Week (3/27-3/30): The men's swimming and diving championships are next week and follow the same cadence, featuring the 2023-24 Premiere Set's Julian Hill from Arizona State, who has qualified in the 100 Free, the 200 Free, and the 500 Free. Like Ohio State, ASU has also qualified a team in all five relays, so Julian will likely see some action in those races as well.
Fencing Championships
The 2023-24 Premiere Set's Edriss Ndiaye from Ohio State is featuring in the national championships for fencing set to take place this weekend on ESPN+. Edriss specializes in foil, so you can catch him in the preliminary rounds on Saturday (3/23) @ 11 AM Eastern and rounds 4-5 on Sunday at 9 AM.
Frozen Four: Women's Ice Hockey Championships
Cleveland's own Laila & Chayla Edwards brought home a national championship last year for the University of Wisconsin - Madison, and this will be Chayla's attempt at a third ring in her final year of college hockey! You can catch the semifinal action on ESPN+ on Friday (3/22) at 730 PM Eastern and a potential rematch of last year's final between Wisconsin and Ohio State on Sunday at 4 PM Eastern on ESPNU. Did we mention Laila and Chayla have done this before? Like the other four student athletes who won an individual or team national championship in the 2022-23 academic year, Laila and Chayla are featured in Five Star Dynasty's special Ringleader Champions Alternate Artwork Cards (click below to purchase).
